Individual Heroes Key for Team Surrey

A number of standout performances proved to be decisive factors in several Team Surrey fixtures this week.
Men’s Rugby Union 1st have still not lost a league game this season, taking their win tally to 6 with a 10-18 away win at Reading 2nd. Leon Hon Sun stole the show for Team Surrey, bagging 2 tries. Women’s Hockey 1st travelled to LSE 1st and pounded their hosts with a 9-1 victory, largely thanks to Jessie Devers and her 3 goal haul, ensuring that Team Surrey maintain their 100% record in their league. Back on home soil a Tyrone Ruth hat trick was the difference between the two sides in the Men’s Football 2nd meeting with UWL 1st, with the home side comfortably winning 4-0.
Women’s Fencing 1st have defended their unbeaten streak this season with a 5th win, this time beating Sussex 1st at home, 121-115, and taking their rightful spot at the top of the South Eastern 2A table. Women’s Badminton 1st team also find themselves heading up their table after notching their 3rd win of the season against Royal Holloway 1st, bringing a 6-2 win back to Surrey.
This week saw the first results from Team Surrey’s Equestrian Club in their inaugural competition for this season. Both the 1st and 2nd teams recorded excellent results, with the 1st side taking overall 1st place in the team competition alongside an individual 1st, 2nd and 6th. The 2nd side managed 4th in both team and individual disciplines.
Men’s and Women’s tennis enjoyed an unbeaten afternoon, including a 0-12 win over Roehampton 2nd for the Men’s 2nd and an 8-4 win for the Men’s 3rd team over Royal Free (RUMS).
This week’s results put Team Surrey in 50th place in the BUCS table.
