Impressive 100% records continue for Team Surrey

04 November 2011

Men’s Rugby 1st make it four wins out of four, while Women’s Fencing 1st and Men’s Volleyball 1st take their streaks to three out of three in an afternoon of solid wins for Team Surrey.

Men’s Rugby 1st made the short trip up the A3 to Varsity rivals Kingston and came home with a 12-6 win, piling the pressure on our counter-parts ahead of next year’s Varsity Games, giving Team Surrey a 3 point advantage at the top of the South Eastern 3A table.

Just one game this week for the Netball ladies as the 3rd team travelled to Roehampton 4th. Team Surrey ensured that their opposition’s slow start to the season continued and finished 29-7 winners, keeping them on par with league leaders Reading 3rd who they face next week in a top of the table clash.

Women’s Fencing 1st also enjoyed a successful afternoon, beating City of London 1st at Surrey Sports Park 135-95, leaving them with a 100% record going into their 4th week of competition. Women’s Tennis 1st also saw success, beating UCL 12-0 away from home.

Two of our other Team Surrey squads were in action at the weekend in their individual tournaments. Our Ultimate side defeated numerous sides from the South East region, winning the Bowl Cup in the process and qualifying for the BUCS Nationals! Meanwhile another lossless record was maintained by Men’s Volleyball as they beat Essex, Sussex and Holloway in a confident league performance.

A handful of strong performances see Team Surrey rise once again to 43rd, with a small handful of results to still be submitted.
