Three wins out of three for Men’s Rugby Union 1st
28 October 2011

Team Surrey’s Men’s Rugby Union 1st squad maintain their excellent start to the BUCS season with a 58-0 win over University of the Arts London 1st.
The performance was an all-round success for Team Surrey, with the 10 tries being scored by 10 different players, proving their extensive squad strength. The result puts them top of the South Eastern 3A division ahead of rivals Kingston who have also bagged 3 wins in 3.
The story is similar for the Men’s Rugby Union 2nd team after securing their second win in a row, with top of the table being held by Reading 4th on points difference over St Georges and Team Surrey.
The Men’s Football 3rd match against Brunel 5th proved an entertaining sceptical for onlookers after Team Surrey’s 3-0 lead was overturned in the final 10 minutes by a hearty come-back by Brunel, only for the boys in yellow to steal a last kick of the game winner to give the home side a 4-3 win and rooting Brunel to the bottom of the South Eastern 6A table.
The Men’s Badminton 2nd team also enjoyed a successful afternoon with an 8-0 thrashing of Kingston 2nd away from the home courts.
The cold and windy conditions failed to unsettle the Women’s Netball 3rd team against Buckinghamshire New 3rd at Surrey Sports Park with strong performances either side of the half time whistle, securing a 30-11 win.
A handful of strong performances see Team Surrey rise one place to 52 on 334 points, just 4 behind Glamorgan.
