The Guildford Heat came crashing down to earth after their long road trip to Newcastle when they suffered an 85-64 defeat at the hands of the Eagles. The Eagles established an early lead and never let go, despite Mike Martin's 10 first quarter points for the Heat.
The Eagles led 25-12 at the end of the first quarter and although the Heat rallied in the last two minutes of the first half, the Eagles reasserted their authority in the third quarter. They led 63-40 going into the fourth and the Heat never really threatened.
The Heat now need to pick themselves up for Sunday's visit of the Sheffield Sharks, who won an overtime thriller on Friday night against the Mersey Tigers.
