Bright future for Spartans following England Open Day
17 September 2011

Surrey Spartans Hockey Club held a successful Open Day last weekend in conjunction with England Hockey.
England and GB International Jonty Clarke also made an appearance, spending several hours helping children to develop their playing skills and technique, and even kindly signed a few autographs for his young fans.
Spartans Chairman, Lowell Lewis said: "We want to thank England Hockey for choosing us as the spotlight club for the day. It has given us a massive boost that we could never have achieved by ourselves.
I am really excited about how far we can take the Club and with the potential links to local primary schools on the horizon perhaps our vision of having a complete club is closer than we originally thought. It’s going to be a challenge but thanks to this Open Day I think we are in a much better place to succeed.”

Following the success of the day Surrey Spartans are looking to start up junior coaching sessions at Surrey Sports Park. To contact the club and find out more please visit the Spartans website.
