Surrey Spartans hosted their inaugural Club Day at Surrey Sports Park yesterday with a free England Hockey Open Day.

Guests of all ages enjoyed a day of fun hockey-related activities and a visit from Great Britain international Jonty Clarke, who showed off his World Championship Bronze Medal to onlooking attendees.

The day also marked the Surrey Spartan's first birthday and helped open a set of “Get Into Hockey” initiatives outlined by England Hockey.

A series of Surrey Cup round robin matches, finished the day, kicking off the Mens 1st XI of the season.

Event organiser and Surrey Spartans Chairman Lowell Lewis, said, "It was a really successful day and we hope all our guests had a fun hockey experience."
