Rising young climbers hit Surrey Sports Park

08 August 2011

Saturday’s climbing festival was enjoyed by climbers of all ages, particularly those taking part in the junior bouldering competition.

All competitors climbed to an excellent standard but it was Harry Stubbs who took first place, followed by Zac Burnham in second and Joe Cassidy in third. Two Elite club members also had a successful day, achieving the highest bouldering score possible.

Mountaineer Jack Sutcliffe gave an insightful talk into his experiences on the North Ridge of Mount Everest, while a surprise visit from Spiderman meant that there were two climbing experts in attendance!

Feedback from guests was highly praiseworthy the festival, with many signing up for further courses on the day after enjoying the activities on offer.
