Pickering takes Quins to new lengths

Commonwealth gold medal winner and 4 times Olympic Games attendee Karen Pickering MBE enjoyed a morning training session with Harlequins on Tuesday.

The World and European champion came down to put the rugby pros through their paces in the pool for their elite swim session.

In response to their meeting Karen commended the players via Twitter (@karen_pickering) saying that “The boys did good”. Charlie Matthews, Quins Lock, also tweeted (@cmatthews5) and praised the session: “Great swim tips from @karen_pickering this morning. Swimming like a salmon now!”

Quins received news of four call-ups to the England squad for this weekend’s Rugby World Cup warm-up against Wales at Twickenham. Nick Easter, Chris Robshaw, Ugo Monye and Danny Care have all been selected within the 40-man squad to face the Welsh this weekend. Their performance will be followed on the Surrey Sports Park website.
