Surrey Sports Park celebrates one millionth visitor
29 July 2011

Surrey Sports Park celebrated its one millionth visitor today as Guildford resident Lise Baker and daughter Harriett became the landmark visitors to the centre.
The pair were presented their prize of the ‘Complete Surrey Sports Park Experience’ by Harlequins lock Ollie Kohn and Surrey Sports Park Operations Director Iain Woodley.
It came as a welcome surprise for the pair who were at the Sports Park on Friday morning to take daughter Charlotte swimming with Guildford City Swimming Club. The Baker Family left with the impressive accolade and the ‘Complete Surrey Sports Park Experience’ package containing a full annual family membership, meal for four in the Bench Bar, free training and coaching sessions, tickets to Guildford Heat, Surrey Storm and Harlequins Rugby games, a signed Harlequins shirt and a massage from Optimum Fitness.
Lise and Harriett were “completely overwhelmed” by the surprise that greeted them and were honored to be the landmark visitors.
Since opening in April 2010 Surrey Sports Park has hosted a number of high profile teams and individuals, offering users a unique experience training alongside professional athletes and teams.
Iain Woodley, Surrey Sports Park Operations Director said, “We would like to offer our congratulations to Lise and the Baker family, who are regular users of the Sports Park and we hope they enjoy their prize.
“The achievement of reaching one million visitors since opening proves how the facility has had a huge positive impact on the Surrey community, providing affordable opportunities to take part in sport and a range of leisure activities in a world class sporting environment.”
Surrey Sports Park will extend their celebrations of reaching this landmark with the continuation of their Summer Festivals of Sport, with free Climbing, Aqua and Badminton festivals running throughout August. For further information visit www.surreysportspark.co.uk/events.
