Jordan Brand Classic a ‘great success’
08 March 2011

In what was a busy weekend of sport at Surrey Sports Park, the Jordan Brand Classic International Tour finished in style with a superb All-Star game in front of hundreds of basketball fans.
After days of intense coaching drills and sessions, twenty of the best young basketballers on the weekend camp competed for a chance to be named amongst the top ten MVPs, who will now head to the US to compete in the Jordan Brand Classic and a potential future in College Basketball and possibly the NBA.
The weekend saw the Surrey Sports Park arena transform into a specialist Jordan Brand Classic venue, with a host of top basketball coaches delivering a series of group sessions. Amongst the impressive roster of coaches was former England and LA Lakers star Steve Bucknall, who was one of the first British players to play in the NBA.
Event organiser, Jay Warburton said, “The 2010 Jordan Brand Classic was a great success, in no small part due to Surrey Sports Park. The top class facilities, combined with a first rate service from all staff involved allowed us to put on an event which was thoroughly enjoyed by kids, coaches, and spectators alike.
“The Surrey Sports Park team could not have been more accommodating of our needs and handled everything professionally throughout. Special thanks to Gems Leaming and Rob Mitchell for all their help in the organization and facilitation of the event. We look forward to coming back in 2011!”
