14 Year Old Boy’s Amazing Half Court Basketball Shot at Guildford Heat

A 14 year old boy from Newhaw wowed the crowds at a Guildford Heat home game on Sunday when he took part in a regular basketball challenge in which two spectators are randomly selected to have one shot each at scoring a basket from the centre of the basketball court.

A new mural named ‘Movement In Steel’ was unveiled today at Surrey Sports Park by Allan Wells MBE. The mural was commissioned by the University of Surrey and created by artist Barnaby Gorton. The 3D sculpture depicts a number of sports in action and welcomes arriving guests in the entrance foyer of Surrey Sports Park.

Surrey Sports Park was featured on Channel 5's The Gadget Show last night as presenters Jason and Ortis used the latest sporting technology in a head-to-head triathlon. GB finish third as Game on 2011 concludes

The Standard Life GB women wrapped up the British Basketball Invitational Tournament at Surrey Sports Park with a 67-64 victory against Latvia. Tom Maher's side ensured they finished third in the competition thanks to a strong first half display. In the other final day game Cuba defeated Germany 58-51 to clinch the British Basketball Invitational trophy.

Harlequins win Amlin Challenge Cup

Harlequins became the first side to win the European Challenge Cup three times in stunning style on Saturday with a dramatic last-ditch 19-18 victory over Stade Francais at the Cardiff City Stadium.

Cuba defeated Germany 58-51 to clinch the British Basketball Invitational trophy at Surrey Sports Park, whilst elsewhere the Standard Life GB women wrapped up the tournament with a 67-64 victory against Latvia in the final game.

Germany and Cuba are joint leaders of the British Basketball Invitational Tournament after day one at Surrey Sports Park. The British Basketball Invitational Tournament continues this Friday afternoon at Surrey Sports Park. Nigeria set to train in Surrey ahead of London 2012

Top athletes from Nigeria will be based in Surrey for their preparations ahead of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic games. An agreement is to be signed between the Nigeria Olympic Committee and Surrey which will see athletes representing the African nation train and stay at key sports venues across the county including the University of Surrey’s Surrey Sports Park and the Guildford Spectrum, in the lead up to the Games in just over a year’s time.

England's 27-0 victory over Ireland on Friday capped an enthralling opening day at Women's Rugby World Cup 2010, the sixth edition since the inaugural competition in 1991. Before the hosts recorded a bonus point victory, Canada, Australia, USA, New Zealand and France also recorded wins in front of a sell-out crowd at Surrey Sports Park in Guildford, England.
